| So earlier in the year I was trying to create an ideal roleplay dream for people sick of BaHs, feral dreams, slave dreams, and yiff dreams and places that are beyond strict with roleplay requirements.
I was trying to create a dream with different themed roleplay areas.
It started out with the entrance/hangout zone where people can chat or wait for someone interested in their preferred roleplay.
Around the hangout zone were going to be portals leading to the different themed areas, such as an ocean-themed section for aquatic roleplay, a steampunk-themed section, etc.
I was going for themes people would like to roleplay but can't quite find since there's no places made for them.
Each themed area was going to include the main section and at least one "inside" area like a building or cave/whatever people could go in.
The idea died when I couldn't get the alt I wanted to be the dream upload alt. I was also the only one working on it trying to make it at LEAST 50% custom patches. I never got past the small ocean-themed section. ):
I think this idea would be great considering there's many types of characters and I find it odd to see maybe a futuristic robot sitting next to a pirate. I also think a multi-themed roleplay haven is ideal in that we wouldn't be limited to just one roleplay genre. Should we get bored with one type of RP theme, we could try another without having to abandon the dream.

| This sounds good to me. But, I thought of creating a guild with one active continuity. It would be difficult to have long-term roleplay when there are many different stories going on. It also makes it more difficult to host large roleplaying events, since it would probably have to coincide with only one theme, which not everyone would want to participate in. Also, as you stated, it is extremely difficult to come with all of the patches and such for all of these different themes. We would like to use member-created content as much as possible, but right now it may not be realistic to expect a lot of that kind of help.
It's certainly not a bad idea, though. I'd like to hear other's input about it.
Perhaps we could include an area in the main dream with upload spots for smaller dreams with those different themes, so that we can shake things up every once in a while but still have our long term roleplay.

i agree, i do like eevee's idea. however, with the amount of roleplayers we have on furc, it just sounds highly unlikely, and unrealistic to say the least. not to mention it being time-consuming to get custom patches for several different types of areas. although, i do think the atleast 50% custom is a good idea, regardless. i just don't think the different areas would work out too well, and i'd assume it would die rather quickly due to lack of similar character types as a bunch. or enough to keep up an rp. even though different character types would be obviously present, it could end up as a blended community.

| Perhaps we could expand on themes once The Guild is established and we have a community that calls for it. Like Joel said, it's a nice idea, but it's not realistic at the moment, especially for a group that isn't even 24 hours old yet. | |

| i agree with looking at different characters first. while having a lot of different themes is good in theory, if you look at what maps offer it (wylde, etc.), there are maybe one or two areas frequently used and everything else is pretty much neglected.
i think january has the right idea in looking at what characters people want to roleplay first and deciding from there.
and yes custom patches please. i'd be willing to help.
